Frequently Asked Questions

常见问题

Physician-led guidance for safe, natural-looking results.

Is it safe?

安全吗?

Safety is our top priority. All procedures at TruSphere MD Studio are performed by a licensed physician (MD) — not nurses or physician assistants. We use only FDA-approved products and adhere to strict sterile techniques in our private medical suite.

Will it hurt?

会痛吗?

We prioritize your comfort throughout every procedure. We use prescription-grade numbing cream and gentle injection techniques refined through years of practice. Most patients describe the sensation as a slight pinch or mild pressure, and many are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the experience is.

What is the downtime?

恢复期多久?

For most injectables (Botox, Dysport, dermal fillers), downtime is minimal. You may experience slight swelling or bruising for a few days, but most patients return to normal activities immediately. Thermage has essentially zero downtime. Your physician will provide specific aftercare instructions tailored to your treatment.

How much does it cost?

价格是多少?

Pricing varies based on your unique anatomy, goals, and the products used. We provide a transparent, itemized quote during your consultation before any treatment begins. There are no hidden fees. We also offer membership programs and package pricing for ongoing care.

Do you speak Chinese?

可以中文沟通吗?

Yes, TruSphere MD Studio is a fully bilingual practice (English and Mandarin Chinese). Our physician speaks fluent Mandarin and conducts consultations, treatments, and follow-ups in your preferred language. We also offer WeChat communication for convenient scheduling and aftercare support.

How do I book?

Where can I find a Chinese-speaking medspa in Dallas?

达拉斯哪里有中文医美诊所?

TruSphere MD Studio in McKinney, TX serves the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area with fully bilingual (English/Mandarin) physician-led aesthetic services. We serve patients from McKinney, Frisco, Plano, Allen, Prosper, and the broader North DFW Chinese community.

What's the difference between Skin Boosters and Dermal Fillers?

水光针和玻尿酸填充有什么区别?

Skin boosters (such as Skinvive) use micro-doses of hyaluronic acid injected superficially across the skin to improve hydration, texture, and overall glow. Dermal fillers use denser hyaluronic acid injected deeper to restore volume, contour facial structure, and smooth wrinkles or folds. Think of skin boosters as improving skin quality from within, while fillers sculpt and reshape. Many patients benefit from both treatments as part of a comprehensive plan.

How often should I get masseter Botox? How long does it last?

瘦脸针多久打一次?效果能维持多久?

Masseter Botox for jawline slimming typically lasts 4 to 6 months per treatment. For the first year, treatments are usually spaced every 3 to 4 months to achieve optimal muscle reduction. As the masseter muscle gradually atrophies with repeated treatments, many patients find they can extend intervals to every 6 months or longer. Your physician will customize the dosing and schedule based on your muscle size and desired contour.

Which is better: Thermage or Ultherapy (HIFU)?

热玛吉和超声刀哪个更好?

Thermage uses radiofrequency energy to tighten skin and stimulate collagen, working best on skin laxity and texture. Ultherapy (HIFU) uses focused ultrasound to target deeper tissue layers, primarily for lifting. Thermage tends to be more comfortable and has zero downtime, while HIFU can cause more discomfort and temporary swelling. For most patients seeking overall tightening and contouring, Thermage (especially the 5th-generation FLX system) offers excellent results with a single session. Your physician can help determine which technology best addresses your specific concerns.

What should I know before my first medspa visit in the US?

第一次在美国做医美需要注意什么?

First, verify that a licensed physician (MD or DO) performs or directly supervises your treatment — not just a nurse or aesthetician. Ask about the specific products being used and confirm they are FDA-approved. A reputable medspa will offer a thorough consultation before any procedure, provide transparent pricing, and never pressure you into same-day treatments. At TruSphere, our MD personally performs every injection and explains the plan in detail during your consultation.

How can I verify my injector is actually licensed?

怎样确认操作者有合法执照?

In Texas, you can check any medical professional's license through the Texas Medical Board (TMB) website. During your consultation, ask: "What is the full name and license type of the person performing my procedure?" A legitimate practice will proactively present credentials at the consultation. If a title isn't one of these recognized credentials — MD, DO, NP, PA, RN — it's worth asking for clarification before proceeding. At TruSphere, every procedure is performed by our MD, and we present our credentials during your first visit.

Can an aesthetician legally do Botox, fillers, or Thermage in Texas?

在德州,美容师可以合法做肉毒素、玻尿酸或热玛吉吗?

No. Texas law is specific: aestheticians (licensed by TDLR) cannot inject Botox, fillers, or operate medical-grade devices like Thermage. RNs can only perform injections under direct physician supervision — the MD must be physically present. NPs and PAs can inject under physician delegation. However, "supervision" has a specific legal definition that some clinics interpret broadly — an important distinction to understand. The safest choice: a practice where the physician personally performs your treatment. For more details, see our Dallas Chinese MedSpa Guide.

How soon after giving birth can I get aesthetic treatments?

产后多久可以做医美?

Most injectable treatments (Botox, fillers) can be safely resumed after you have finished breastfeeding, as a precautionary measure. If you are not breastfeeding, many procedures can be considered as early as 6 to 8 weeks postpartum once your body has recovered from delivery. Thermage and skin boosters may also be options during this period. We recommend scheduling a consultation so your physician can evaluate your individual situation and create a safe, personalized timeline.

Do you accept insurance? Is medical aesthetics covered?

你们接受哪些保险?医美可以用保险吗?

Medical aesthetic treatments (Botox for cosmetic purposes, fillers, Thermage, skin boosters) are considered elective and are not covered by health insurance. We do not bill insurance for aesthetic procedures. However, we offer competitive pricing, membership programs, and package discounts to make treatments more accessible. Payment options include credit cards and HSA/FSA cards where eligible.

Can I book an appointment via WeChat?

可以用微信预约吗?

Yes! You can add our WeChat assistant (ID: TruSphereMD) to schedule consultations, ask questions about treatments, and receive aftercare instructions — all in Chinese or English. WeChat is one of the most popular ways our Chinese-speaking patients communicate with us. We typically respond within a few hours during business days.

Are there dietary restrictions before/after injections?

注射前后需要忌口吗?

Before injections, we recommend avoiding alcohol, fish oil, vitamin E, aspirin, and other blood-thinning supplements for 3 to 5 days to minimize bruising risk. After treatment, avoid extremely hot or spicy foods for 24 hours, and do not consume alcohol for at least 24 hours. There are no strict dietary restrictions beyond these precautions. Your physician will provide detailed pre- and post-care instructions specific to your treatment.

How do your prices compare to chain medspas like Ideal Image?

你们的价格和连锁医美比怎么样?

Our pricing is competitive with major chains, but the value is fundamentally different. At TruSphere, a physician personally performs every injection — chain medspas typically use nurses or physician assistants. You receive individualized treatment plans rather than standardized packages, and direct physician follow-up after every visit. When you factor in the expertise, safety, and personalized care of a physician-led practice, TruSphere offers exceptional value.

Are there special considerations for Asian patients getting filler?

亚洲人做填充有什么特别注意的?

Yes, Asian facial anatomy differs in important ways — including midface structure, nasal bridge height, jawline shape, and skin thickness. A physician experienced with Asian aesthetics understands these differences and adjusts injection techniques, product selection, and dosing accordingly. At TruSphere, our MD has dual training in both Asian and American aesthetic standards, ensuring results that enhance your natural features while respecting your ethnic identity.

What's the difference between Botox and Dysport?

肉毒素和Dysport有什么区别?该选哪个?

Both Botox and Dysport are botulinum toxin type A neuromodulators that temporarily relax muscles to smooth wrinkles. Dysport tends to spread slightly more, which can be advantageous for larger areas like the forehead. Botox may offer more precision for smaller, targeted areas. Onset is similar (3-5 days for Dysport, 5-7 days for Botox), and both last approximately 3 to 4 months. Your physician will recommend the best option based on your anatomy, treatment area, and aesthetic goals.
